Money Buckets
Your Conscious Spending Plan
The Philosophy
Money Buckets helps you create a conscious spending plan—a simple yet powerful approach to managing your finances that focuses on intentionality rather than restriction.
Instead of tracking every dollar or feeling guilty about purchases, you allocate your income into four main categories: Fixed Costs, Investments, Savings, and Guilt-Free Spending. Once allocated, you can spend freely within each category without second-guessing yourself.
Inspiration & Credits
The conscious spending plan concept that inspired this app comes from Ramit Sethi's personal finance philosophy, as outlined in his book "I Will Teach You To Be Rich."
Ramit's approach emphasizes spending extravagantly on things you love while cutting costs mercilessly on things you don't. This app is built on that foundation—helping you identify what matters and allocate your money accordingly.

Fixed Costs (50-60%)
Essential expenses that stay relatively constant: rent, utilities, insurance, subscriptions, and minimum debt payments.
Investments (10%)
Money working for your future: retirement accounts, index funds, and other long-term wealth building.
Savings (5-10%)
Short to medium-term goals: emergency fund, vacation savings, down payment fund, or upcoming large purchases.
Guilt-Free Spending (20-35%)
Whatever remains is yours to spend however you want—no guilt, no tracking, no judgment.
